Read and re-read these steps as another reminder on how to easily check your breasts – and then just do it!!
- Stand in front of a mirror, with a light above you to spot shadows on your breasts. Stand braless so you can see your breasts.
- Both hands on head, observe your breasts, get to know what looks normal for you so you can more easily spot if anything changes.
- With one hand still on head, with opposite hand feel round your breast in quarters.
- Prod firmly fully over each quarter. Look for any changes in appearance (dimpling etc)
- Feel into your armpits.
- Check your nipple, behind and around and look to notice any differences.
- Swap sides, repeat on the other side.
- Put your hands on your waist, tense your pectoral major muscle, observe any changes to the appearance of your breasts.
Repeat at monthly intervals, same time of the month but not when your period is due.
